Google Chrome
Special Family History Search Extension

A new easy way of finding sources.

Installing:
            Step 1: Open Google Chrome
Step 2: In the bottom right corner click “Web Store”
                        - If “Web Store” is not there, open a new tab
Step 3: At the top left, in the search box, type RootsSearch and press Enter
Step 4: At the right of “Roots Search” click “Add to Chrome”
                        - There will be no apparent change at this time to indicate it was added to Chrome but it was added

Using:
Step 1: While in Chrome go to FamilyTree
- Get there by going to FamilySearch.org | click FamilyTree
Step 2: Select a deceased ancestor for which you are seeking sources | go to their “Person Detail Page”
Step 3: At the right end of the Chrome address bar will be a “wand” icon | click the wand
- If the boxes contain data go to step 4, if the boxes are blank, you have Chrome opened twice.  Close the other instance of Chrome and click the wand again
Step 4: Select the website to search (Ancestry, Billion Graves, FamilySearch, Find A Grave, Geni, or WeRelate)
- Note: If you are searching for a female in BillionGraves or Find A Grave you will need to change their surname from their maiden name to their married name
Step 5: Search through the list to find your ancestor
